Can you believe we’re already in the last week of January?! This month has flown by, and we’re excited to finish it off strong! We have some fun events happening this week at Juniper, so be sure to check them out below.
Family Day at Lunch - We’re excited to announce that Family Day at Lunch for our 2nd grade students, as well as Mrs. Rosenkranz’s and Mrs. Barrett’s classes, will take place on January 29! Please note that 2nd grade students in Mr. Green’s class will have their Family Day on a different date. A flyer with parent guidelines and the exact time was sent home last week. We look forward to enjoying a wonderful lunch with you!
After School Enrichment Classes - Enrichment and intervention classes are starting in February! Permission slips were sent home on January 21st for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. If you’d like your child to participate, please return the completed form by January 31. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity!
Lockdown Drill - We will conduct a lockdown drill on Friday, January 31 at 9:10 am. These drills help ensure the safety of our school community by allowing students and staff to practice emergency procedures. Teachers will guide students calmly, just like a fire drill. You can support by reminding your child that these drills are about staying prepared and keeping everyone safe. Thank you for helping us prioritize safety!
Lost and Found - Our lost and found rack is overflowing! If your child is missing something, please take a moment to check the rack during drop-off or pick-up. As a reminder, labeling your child’s belongings with their name helps us return items quickly if they’re brought to the lost and found. Let’s work together to ensure items make their way back home!
Every Jaguar Counts Rally - Join us for our Every Jaguar Counts Rally on Friday, January 31! We’ll have fun with a jump rope contest and dance to “If You’re Happy and You Know It” to celebrate our school spirit. It’s sure to be a lively and exciting event! We can’t wait to see you there and enjoy the festivities together!
Spirit Day - Join us for Spirit Day on January 31st! Wear your favorite activewear and show kindness to others as we work out problems together. Let’s spread positive energy and school spirit!
Kindness Challenge - The Great Kindness Challenge Week is from January 27-31, 2025! This week is all about spreading kindness throughout our school community. Students will be encouraged to perform acts of kindness each day, from helping a friend to sharing a kind word or gesture. We invite families to participate as well! Take the challenge at home and share your experiences with us. Let’s work together to make kindness a part of everything we do! We look forward to seeing all the positive actions and smiles throughout the week.
Here’s what to expect throughout the week:
Kindness Challenge Checklist: Students will receive a checklist with acts of kindness to complete. They need to do at least 10 items by Friday, January 31.
Kindness Letters: Students can write 1 letter to staff to show appreciation. Parents, you’re welcome to assist them with their letter.
Spirit Day – January 31: "Work Out Problems with Kindness" wear activewear!
School of Choice Registration - This is the final week to apply for School of Choice! If you'd like your child to attend a school other than their school of residence for the 2025-2026 school year, now is the time to apply. A separate application is required for each student, and placements will be determined through a random, unbiased lottery. The deadline to submit applications is January 31, 2025. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. Click the following link to apply: 25/26 School of Choice Application.
