Martin Luther King Jr Day - School will be closed on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This day honors Dr. King’s life and his impact on history. Enjoy the long weekend and we’ll see you back at school on Tuesday!
ELAC Meeting - We will be holding an ELAC (English Language Learners Advisory Committee) Meeting on Wednesday, January 22, at 5:30 PM via Zoom. ELAC is a school-level committee made up of parents and staff, working together to advise school officials on English learner programs and services. We encourage all families of English learners to join us for this important meeting, where we will discuss ways to support and enhance the learning experience for our students. PTA Meeting - Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, at 6:15 pm in the VPA. This is a great opportunity to stay informed, share ideas, and support our school community. We hope you can join us—your involvement makes a difference!
Vista Hill Parent Group - Our Vista Hill Parent Group began last Monday. This session will run for 7 consecutive weeks. In these sessions, parents will learn valuable strategies to better understand their children and strengthen family unity. Please note that these sessions will be conducted in Spanish. Early Education Enrollment - Enrollment is now open for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, and Special Education Preschool for the 2025-2026 school year. This enrollment is only for new students entering EUSD. EUSD offers a full-day Transitional Kindergarten program designed to bridge the path between preschool and Kindergarten. Children are eligible for TK if their date of birth falls between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021. Students applying for Kindergarten must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2025. School of Choice Registration - The School of Choice Application Window is Still Open! If you’d like your child to attend a school other than their school of residence for the 2025-2026 school year, now is the time to apply. A separate application is required for each student, and placements will be determined through a random, unbiased lottery. Please remember, the deadline to submit applications is January 31, 2025. Family Day at Lunch - We’re excited to announce that Family Day at Lunch for our 2nd grade students and Mrs. Rosenkranz’s class will take place on January 29! Please note that 2nd grade students in Mr. Green’s class will have their Family Day on a different date. A flyer with parent guidelines and the exact time will be sent home this week. We look forward to enjoying a wonderful lunch with you!
After School Enrichment Classes - Enrichment and intervention classes are starting in February! Permission slips will be sent home on January 21st for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. If you’d like your child to participate, please return the completed form by January 31. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity!
