Juniper Families. I hope you had a relaxing weekend with your families. Just a reminder that there is no school Thursday Oct. 5 and Friday Oct. 6 because of parent teacher conferences. Take a look at this week’s events.
Parent Teacher Conference – This October 5 and 6 will be parent teacher conferences. Teachers have sent out communication to sign up for your conference. Please contact your student’s teacher with any questions.
GATE – The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in the front office and should return it to the school by Friday, October 13. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by your school office.
School Site Council – The School Site Council is a committee of parents, school staff, and community members that collaborate to improve the academic program through the compliant and efficient use of selected funds. Elections for our school site council have begun. Please vote for 5 candidates that will represent our community. Vote by Friday October 6. The link to vote is below.
Low-cost computers – The San Diego County Office of Education and Computers to SD Kids are hosting a Smart Tools for Schools event from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7, at San Marcos Elementary School, 1 Tiger Way, San Marcos. This event provides an opportunity for families to purchase a refurbished desktop computer for $100 or a refurbished laptop for $150. Dine-Out Fundraiser – Juniper is having a fundraiser at Cocina Del Charro October 2 through October 4 from 4pm-9pm. 20% of food sales will be donated to Juniper. A flyer will be sent home with more information.
