Solid colors or subtle patterns are geat options on picture day. Shirts with large patterns, slogans, or anything shiny tend to be distracting in pictures. Hey Mountaineers, here are some Safety Tips to Beat the Heat! * Be cool & stay in the shade. Direct sunlight can speed up the effect of heat on your body. * Wear sunscreen and sun glasses to protect your skin and eyes. * Avoid outdoor activities during peak times, stay indoors from 10am-4pm if possible. * H2O to Go - Stay hydrated even if you're not thirsty. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol. * Take a cool shower if you're feeling overheated. * Wear light-colored and lightweight clothing. * Be a good neighbor, check-in with those most at risk, like the elderly, children, and pets.

What's eSports all about? In EUSD, it's more than just gaming! Our eSports enrichment program is growing strong after making its debut in the fall as part of our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. eSports has students exercising their critical thinking skills, engaging in career exploration, learning to collaborate, and more. Our Student Assembly from last Thursday was a bittersweet one. It was exciting to reward our high score reading students and we introduced our new Bernardo Cheer & Spirit Team, but the highlight of the morning was announcing our Classified Employee of the Year, Ms. Kelly Freeman, whom we will miss tremendously as this is her last school year at Bernardo after 49 years of service with EUSD, wow, talk about dedication!!! We wish you all the best Ms. Kelly!!!

Thank you to all the families that came on down to join us for Family Lunch Day on March 8th. It is always wonderful to see how the students get so excited to see their families join them for lunch and meet their friends and families too. It sure turned out to be a beautiful day after some rainy weather! Muchas gracias a todas las familias que vinieron para el Día Familiar de Almuerzo el pasado 8 de Marzo. Siempre es maravilloso ver como los estudiantes se emocionan al ver a sus familias acompañarlos y conocer a sus amigos y sus familias. ¡Fue un hermoso día a pesar de los días pasados lluviosos!

Oh boy, so much has been happening at Bernardo, we're going to try to get you up to date starting with our Morning Student Assemblies from 2/15/24 & 2/29/24, where students were rewarded for their reading high scores, and a special garden was presented by an awesome Boyscout, previous Bernardo student, and it was dedicated to our former student, Joshua Whitten... may he rest in peace.
