The 2022-2023 Design Team kicked off this week, and we are thrilled to share that we will be engaged in developing and refining the EUSD school experience so that all our students can be successful. I am so appreciative of Design Team members who are committed to participate in this very important and impactful work. As you may recall, the Design Team launched in 2019 to take our district to the next level, working toward our district goals together using the tenets of design thinking. For this cycle, it’s incredible to be together in person working with facilitators from the Learner-Centered Collaborative to guide us on defining whole-learner outcomes. I am excited for this work, and to share our progress with you as it happens.
Here are this week’s updates and reminders.
Work with EUSD: The next EUSD hiring fair is Tuesday, September 27. Human Resources team members will be on hand to guide individuals through the application process for numerous essential full- and part-time positions across the district. The hiring event is scheduled for 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the district office, 2310 Aldergrove Avenue. Applicants may be eligible to receive a tentative job offer at the event, contingent upon necessary prescreening and clearances. Pre-register and get additional details on Eventbrite. If you are looking for meaningful work in a vibrant, diverse community, don’t miss this event! On-campus and district office positions include paraeducator, nutritional assistant, noontime supervisor, custodial staff, bilingual school clerk, administrative analyst, licensed vocational nurse, school library technician, orientation assistant fluent in Farsi, Mandarin, or Qʼanjobʼal, bilingual family liaison, teachers, and more. Employees who work more than five hours a day are eligible for enrollment in EUSD benefits and retirement programs. Find details on all employment opportunities here.
6th grade camp opportunity: EUSD is excited to announce that we will be offering a 6th grade camp experience this school year through our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. The camp will take place at Cuyamaca Outdoor School during winter break, from January 3 through January 6. This is an overnight camp experience and is part of San Diego County Office of Education’s Outdoor Education Program. All camp fees and transportation to and from Cuyamaca Outdoor School will be covered by EUSD. Please note, space is limited as the camp can accommodate only 435 students. An application process will open in November, and participants will be selected by lottery. Stay tuned for more information regarding this amazing opportunity!
Parent-Teacher conferences: Save the date for annual parent-teacher conferences – Thursday and Friday, October 6 and October 7. These are scheduled as non-student days and scheduling information will be shared by your school sites.
