Nutrition for Teachers and Students

student's Job Skill Program

Students in the Kitchen

Room 11 at Felicita Elementary and Nutrition Services collaborate to host the student's Job Skill Program on February 28, 2024.

Bobcat Cafe was happy to host some Room 11 helpers activities. The students were able to assist with unpacking breakfast carts, loading items onto shelves or putting items in boxes, taking boxes to recycle, helping with cleaning the lunch room, and washing dishes.

Nutrition for Students is Fun

The body needs nutritious foods to grow and stay healthy, and eating and exercising ensure the body's care. Whether grabbing breakfast before school or choosing a snack after sports, now is the time to start learning to make healthy choices. The body and brain need healthy fuel to perform, learn, grow, and prevent illness and disease. Doing so will help one look, feel, and do better in school.

Develop healthy eating habits today that will last a lifetime. Eat a balanced diet from each of the five food groups every day: grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, meat, and beans.

Students must be healthy to learn, but they must also know to be healthy.

We encourage and wholeheartedly support health and nutrition education in the classroom. By teaching nutrition, we are helping students grow and learn to their fullest potential and equipping them with the key to promoting lifelong health and wellness. Nutrition Education establishes the essential skills for healthy eating and lifestyle choices that will carry them into adulthood, significantly impacting their future health.

Our school's breakfast and lunch programs are not just about providing meals. They are about helping students establish healthy eating habits that fuel their growth, enhance their learning, and support their play. These programs are designed to meet 1/3 of the recommended daily nutrient allowance, ensuring that our students receive a balanced diet. Our school meals are carefully crafted to include nutritious foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and calcium-rich low-fat milk, all of which contribute to their overall health and well-being.
