Rose Mascot

Good Afternoon Rose Families,

School Spirit Day! - This Thursday, March 27 is Tie-Dye Day!  Wear your favorite tie-dye outfit.  If you don’t have tie-dye, no worries, a school shirt will work just fine!  This is an optional activity for students.

Kids Heart Challenge is coming, join the team today! - Our school is proud to partner with the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge service-learning program which kicked off on Thursday 3/20! Students will learn how to have happy and healthy hearts while raising life saving donations to help others with special hearts. Plus, your family can learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission! Join the team TODAY at www.heart.org/schools or by downloading the FREE AHA Schools App for Apple or Android. You can also access the app in the self-service portal of your student’s iPad.  Students that complete Finn’s Mission will get their own Heart Hero Cape, certificate, and special bonus gift on 3/26.  Meet heart survivor Finn and hear how completing Finn’s Mission gives hope to everyone, everywhere.  Let’s save lives together! Thank you for being a Heart Hero!

Minimum Day & Spring Break - Wednesday, April 9 is our last day before Spring Break.  This is a minimum day and all students will be dismissed at 12:10 pm.  Please ensure your student is picked up on time.  Spring Break begins Thursday, April 10 through Monday, April 21.  Students return on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Lost & Found - Our lost and found is overflowing again.  If your student is missing sweaters or jackets, please have them check the lost and found or stop by to check the cart.  Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of March.

New Student Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is now open for Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Special Education Preschool. EUSD offers a full-day Transitional Kindergarten program to bridge the path between preschool and Kindergarten. Children are eligible for TK if their date of birth is between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021. Students applying for Kindergarten must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2025. Students in EUSD TK and Kindergarten programs are eligible to participate in their school’s optional Expanded Learning program. The Expanded Learning program provides before- and after-school student care, from 6:30 a.m. to the morning bell and from the dismissal bell to 6:00 p.m. For questions regarding Special Education Preschool or about your student’s Special Education needs for next school year, please contact the team at spedsupport@eusd.org.

Preschool Enrollment:  Coming soon!  Applications for the 2025-26 school year for EUSD State Preschool will be available online beginning May 1. Applications will be accepted for children who will be age 3 by August 19, 2025. If your child will turn 3 years old during the 2025-2026 school year, you can apply on or after their birthday. Preschool classes are available at seven EUSD elementary schools: Central, Juniper, Glen View, Lincoln, Oak Hill, Pioneer, and Rose. EUSD Preschool is offered through the California State Preschool Program and licensed through the California Department of Social Services. Please visit the EUSD State Preschool website for more information.

Community Schools: We continue to need your feedback on how to better support our students. Please access the Community School Survey to give your feedback. All community members (parents, students, staff…) are welcome to take this survey.

Safe Driving - Parents, we have seen an increase in families not adhering to the speed limits, traffic signals, and parking lot signs in and around the school. It is imperative for everyone’s safety that you safely drive to school. Please be a responsible driver and keep our school community safe!

Independent Study/Leaves - Families, if you know your student will be absent for several days due to a planned trip or event, please notify the office at least two weeks in advance. Your student can be placed on independent study during their leave to receive credit for their absences, however, but our office and teacher will need time to prepare the required materials.  Thank you.

Breakfast and Lunch Menus:  All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch.  Families can view our new online menus.  Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.

That is all for now - have a great week!
