Restorative justice practices (RJP) promote values and principles that use inclusive, collaborative approaches for being in community. These approaches validate the experiences and needs of everyone... and allow us to act and respond in ways that are healing rather than alienating.
Parents, join Mr. Spriggs and Ms. Lopez to discuss and encourage gentle reflection, responsibility, and repairing harm with your students at home.

The Elk's Lodge of Escondido has their Hoop Shoot Contest coming up soon! This is a youth basketball free throw contest that has been going on annually for years!! The challenge is the best out of 25 free throws. We would like to help this event have the most success and best turnout this year.
It is a free event for boys and girls from ages 8 - 13. The participants would have to be at least 8 years old by April 1, 2024 and no older than 13 years old by April 1, 2024 as the competition continues to the district, state and then nationally IF they win.
The groups to participate are as follows:
Girls 8 - 9
Girls 10 - 11
Girls 12 - 13
Boys 8 - 9
Boys 10 - 11
Boys 12 - 13
The winner of each group gets a trophy and a chance to compete at the next level. State level and national level (In Chicago) would be all expenses paid trips by the Elks.
This event is on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Escondido Charter High School from 9AM-1PM. ECHS is located at 1868 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido, California 92027.

Join us for our Halloween Parade on Tuesday, October 31st at 8:15am.
Participation on this day's theme is optional. Students who would like to dress up should arrive to school in their costume. Parents are invited to this event. Students who do not want to dress up are invited to wear orange and black or a Halloween shirt.
Costumes should follow these guidelines:
Must not keep student from moving freely
Masks are not allowed
No face makeup
No weapons and free of blood
Students who choose to wear a costume need a change of clothes. Costumes will only be permitted during the parade.



Join us on Friday, October 27th from 6 - 8pm for a night of fun at MILLER'S TRUNK OR TREAT! We will have fun for the entire family including candy & games.

Bring NEW socks in October to be donated to ADULTS in need. Donation baskets can be found in your student's classroom. Last day to donate is 10/31. Donated socks will go to Interfaith Community Services.
Top three classes with the most socks collected will win a popsicle party.

October 2, 2023 is World Day of Bullying Prevention. Say no to bullying by wearing blue on Monday, October 2nd.



The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in the front office and should return it to the school by Friday, October 13. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by your school office.
