Two representatives from the Escondido Educational Foundation and Zesty Harper from the Escondido Board of Trustees attended our May 2nd Open House for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Opening of our Outdoor Classroom and Gardening Project . Last year, Dr. Brooke Hermann submitted a grant proposal and was awarded an unprecedented $6,000 award for this creative and lively addition to our campus.
The theme was, "Flamingle." All classrooms received a portable garden planter as a component of the project in addition to the tree trunk seats, spider web seat and outdoor blackboard.
Students and families enjoyed a plethora of arts, crafts and games!
There was fun for everyone!
Sonia De La Rosa, our Family Liaison, organized a raffle with all kinds of wonderful prizes donated by members of the community. She also contacted a taco truck and raised money from the considerable sales that evening.
The Open House was a delicious success and enjoyed by all!!!
