Happy New Year Conway Community!

We are fired-up and ready to cultivate the genius in our students and cultivate joy in 2023. How about you? Winter break is a good time to stop, reflect, and embrace the possibilities of a new year. Our EPIC school has been on an incredible transformational journey. In the last seven years, our students have felt the spirit of Crew and it has launched them to reach toward possibilities and achieve more than they thought possible.

In December, several of us had the opportunity to attend the EL Education National Conference in Chicago. While there, I was inspired by Dr. Goldy Muhammad, author and educational leader. Her keynote speech was a call to action and cultivate their genius and joy for learning. This inspirational talk got me thinking about what’s possible this next year and how WE will continue to unleash the unlimited potential of every single student. And how will I and WE infuse joy into every learning? This is an opportunity for our Conway staff Crew to integrate joy into our daily lessons and our campus. Dr. Muhammad shared 10 lessons of joy from historical examples, here are three:

Joy is connected to self-determination and self-empowerment
Joy is when we cultivate the mind and heart together.
Joy is when we center love, music, and art.

What does this look like and sound like for our students? This is our task and lift this up this year. I welcome your ideas and voices as together we cultivate our students' genius and intentionally bring joy into learning everyday.

School of Choice

Typically, students attend the schools that serve the neighborhood attendance areas in which they live. However, EUSD does provide attendance options for parents and students in order to help meet the diverse needs and interests of students within the district. Students may apply for a School Choice Intradistrict Transfer to any school in the district.

Our W.H.O. (We Help Others) YES, you can help your community! WHO Crew needs your help collecting food donations for the Interfaith Community Center. Donate what you CAN until January 18th.
