Oops, almost forgot to post some highlights from our awesome Family Fall Night! We sure had a great turnout, with families all over the field playing games, watching the bubble show, making fall art, dancing over at the blacktop & eating some yummy food by the playground! Awesome turn out for Crazy Hat Day, it really brightened up our Friday Morning Assembly. Thank you to all who wore yellow & especially to those who donated for Caps for the Cure Cancer Research, we collected just over $1,500, yeay! Can't wait to see you tonight at our Family Fall Night!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Earlier this week, Mr. Oden's 5th grade class got their creative juices flowing by starting this year's art classes with a multi-media mountain project. Using watercolors, markers, acrylics & colored pencils, these artists showed they are truly Mountaineers! You can find these beauties on Mr. Oden's classroom window if you'd like to take a peek!

Every Friday, during recess, we roll our awesome PBIS Rewards Cart out to the playground for those kiddos who earned at least 5 Mighty Mountaineer Certificates. They can earn certificates by being Safe, Respectful, Responsible & Scholarly. Please encourage them to earn their certificates & get a Reward!

This is a bittersweet day for all of us at Bernardo, including for the skies, as we say good-bye to our most amazing Library Technician, Mrs. Sarah Kelly, since today is her last day with us, she will be so so missed, and we wish her all the best in all her future adventures. This morning, our principal, Mr. Lyche presented her with a beautiful gift, then all the classrooms opened up their doors, and in synchrony all the students yelled "We Love You Mrs. Kelly!!!"
On this Friday's Student Assembly, as always, we start with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a fun 'let's wake up' dance, we also got to know a little more about Mr. Wayne Williams, our awesomest & friendliest Custodian, and we finished up with our Bernardo chant "It begins with ME!" Hope you enjoy your 3-day Weekend! Stay cool!!!
Música Maestro!!! Oh what an awesome first week of music lessons. All grade levels had the opportunity to experiment on some instruments & music notes, and we hope they will decide to chose one. Thank you Mr. Aaron Seener for your time & this awesome gift of music!!!
Thank you to all the Kindergarten families that came out for the Teddy Bear Picnic to enjoy a yummy lunch with their kiddo's, it was an awesome turnout, and thank you to our awesome Kindergarten Teachers for organizing it. It sure was a hot day, but oh so fun!!!

Wow, how exciting! We had our first Friday Student Assembly out on the grassy area & it was quite a success! We played some fun music & our principal Mr. Lyche showed everyone some fun dancing moves, then Mrs. Woods explained all about our compliment cards & gifts that we'll start rolling out starting in September, so please be kind!
Wow!!! What a great turn out we had at our Ice Cream Social last Friday!!! A great big thank you to our PTA team for putting it together, to all who came by & obtained some cool Spirit Wear, it sure was wonderful to see everyone, and congratulations to the winners of the Bike Giveway!!!

We had an awesome time getting together with some of our new TK/K families at our Playdate at Kit Carson Park yesterday. It was fun to watch how parents & kiddos were all getting to know each other. Definitely, the best way to get ready for the first day of school. It was great meeting you all!
