From now until January 31, our 3rd graders are excited to facilitate a community service project to collect items to support an amazing organization called "Gently Hugged."
Babies in many areas of San Diego lack appropriate items of clothing to help them stay warm and thrive during their first year.
Gently Hugged collects very gently used or new infant clothing in Newborn to 12 month sizes along with baby blankets, burp cloths, bibs, socks, shoes, hats, jackets, and small board books. We are unable to accept equipment or large items.
Enough essential items for a baby’s first year are packed into a bag and then distributed by nurses and social workers to low-income, military, and disadvantaged families. Distribution sites include Hospitals, Public Health Regional Centers, Clinics & Social Service Agencies.
