Registration for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year will open on February 9, 2022.
EUSD offers Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs at all 17 elementary schools. Kindergarten is a full-day program. Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, Transitional Kindergarten will be a full-day program.
Please note: Students applying for Kindergarten must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2022. Students applying for Transitional Kindergarten must be age 5 between September 2, 2022, and February 2, 2023.
How to Register
EUSD offers online registration for new students via PowerSchool.
When registration for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten opens February 9, 2022, you will be asked to create an account before completing your child’s registration. You will also need an email address to create your account. If you don’t have an email address, please create a free Google Gmail address first.
The student’s registration will not be complete until all of the following documents have been provided to your neighborhood school of residence. Please start gathering these documents now so that your Kindergarten Registration goes as smoothly as possible after February 9, 2022:
- Proof of residence
- Proof of Age / Date of Birth
- Immunization record
- Find your child’s neighborhood school of residence.
- Complete your child’s TK / Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-2023 school year.

IMPORTANT: If you are looking to register your child in Kindergarten for the current school year, you will utilize the 2021-2022 New Student Registration Form.
The Kindergarten registration form is only if you are looking to register your child for Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.
School Choice Transfers
Typically, incoming TK / Kindergarten students attend the schools of residence that serve the neighborhood attendance areas in which they reside.
However, students may apply for a School Choice Intradistrict Transfer to any elementary school(s) in the district by submitting a separate School Choice application on or before March 18, 2022.
Dual Language Program
EUSD offers the Dual Language Immersion Program at four elementary schools. Our program follows a research-based 90/10 instructional model designed to promote bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism for students whose primary language is English as well as those whose primary language is Spanish.
