Policies: Volunteering
The Escondido Union School District (EUSD) welcomes partnerships with families and/or community members through volunteerism at any of our 23 district schools. To ensure the safety of our students, the following are procedures for serving as a volunteer in our district. (For more information on specific volunteer opportunities, please contact your school’s Family Liaison.)
Level I: An individual volunteering for classroom and school activities, when under the supervision of a certificated staff, must complete the following:
- EUSD Volunteer Application
- Megan’s Law Background Check
- EUSD Volunteer Code of Conduct
- TB Test (only required if the volunteer will have prolonged contact with students)
- EUSD Guest/Volunteer Registry (required each time a volunteer is on a school campus)
Level II: An individual volunteering for classroom and school activities, when NOT under the Supervision of a Certificated Staff, must complete the following (i.e. coaches, tutors working with students outside of the classroom, chaperone on a field trip who will be alone with students):
- Volunteer Application
- Megan’s Law Background Check
- Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Criminal Background Check (only required for individuals with unsupervised contact with students)
- TB Test (only required if the volunteer will have prolonged contact with students)
- Guest/Volunteer Registry (required each time a volunteer is on a school campus)
Level III: An individual volunteering as a driver for a field trip must complete the following:
- Volunteer Application
- Megan’s Law Background Check
- Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Permit to Use Private Vehicle
- Criminal Background Check (only required for individuals with unsupervised contact with students)
- Guest/Volunteer Registry (required each time a volunteer is on a school campus)
Volunteer Forms and Information
- Volunteer Packet is available at the district office or any school office. Complete all forms in the packet to be a volunteer.

* A guest or visitor attending a school or classroom event is required to sign the Guest/Volunteer Registry in the school office each time he/she is on the school campus.
