The Escondido Union School District (EUSD) encourages parents, guardians, and other significant family members to be partners in the education of their children through multiple opportunities for input, interaction, and involvement. The following opportunities are available for family members of our students at all EUSD schools during the 2017-2018 school year.

Family Activities at Every School
COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL
Principals, assistant principals, and/or staff members dialogue with students’ family members in an informal setting about issues specific to the school site.
CURRICULUM BASED FAMILY EVENTS
EUSD families are invited to attend hands-on learning events together at their child’s school site. Activities at family events are based on the California State Standards.
FAMILY DAYS AT LUNCH AND LEARN
Parents, guardians, and significant family members are encouraged to attend lunch at school with their child at least once a year. During these planned events at the school sites, attendees will have the opportunity to learn relevant information needed to support their child’s success in their current grade level, access school and community resources, enjoy special time with their child, and taste food from the EUSD Nutrition Services Department.

Family workshops provide parents, and guardians, and significant family members with opportunities to learn information and skills to support their child’s academic and personal success. EUSD schools offer a variety of workshops, parenting classes, and customized trainings covering a range of topics throughout the year.
During the 2017-2018 school year, English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes will be held three days a week for 2.5 hours a day at Conway, Farr Avenue, Felicita, Juniper, and Oak Hill Elementary Schools. ESL classes are open to all EUSD family members. Please see the Family Engagement Calendar for specific Family Workshop times and locations.
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
A variety of volunteer opportunities are available at each of our EUSD schools to meet the interests of our family and community members. For more information on how your unique skill or experience can benefit students at one of our local schools, or to connect with a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule, please contact your school’s Family Liaison.
Family members are welcome to serve as leaders and decision makers at all of our EUSD schools through participation in their site Parent Teacher Association (PTA), School Site Council, and/or English Language Advisory Council (ELAC). For more information on how to get involved as a leader at your child’s school, contact your school’s Family Liaison.
