Curriculum and Assessment: Language Assessment Center

Welcome to the Language Assessment Center! Our mission is to support English language learners on their journey to English language proficiency.

We do this by monitoring student progress on the California English Language Development Test (CELDT). Once new students are tested we meet with parents and take time to explain the meaning of their child’s scores. Parents of continuing students receive annual CELDT scores through US mail in January.

We also inform parents about program options (Structured English Immersion, English Language Mainstream, Dual Language Program) offered to their child. Parents receive a Parent Handbook that contains additional information about the district.

Whenever possible, beginning students who speak a language other than Spanish will have an orientation assistant who speaks their language to help them adapt to their new school.
If you have any questions please contact us. We are happy to help in any way that we can.
